Froufrou D’anchin is by the french stallion Uriel stallion Rivage du Poncel who jumped Internationally with much success. As a 4 and 5 year old he held the record of 29 rounds without a fault. Rivage du Poncel has competed at some of the largest horse shows in the world and won and been placed at CSIO of Aachen, Madrid, St Gall, Barcelona, Geneva, WCSI of Bercy and Cannes to name but a few.Uriel has been the leading sire in france for several years. Uriel contributed to French breeding through 26 sons and he produced more than 100 International show jumpers. Froufrou D’anchin`s dam is by Grand Veneur, Grand Veneur’s dam Tanagra G produced two other CSI winners these being L’Elue de Veneur and O’Veneur. Grand Veneur was a very popular French stallion and he was often best sire by progeny winnings in the French national championships at Fotenbleau. Grand Veneur produced 14 Grand Prix show jumpers amongst them are Joli Coeur, winner of team gold at the Atlanta Olympics as well the individual bronze and team gold at the world championships. Another son of Grand Veneur is Le Tot de Semilly who is recognised to be one of the best breeding stallion in the world, Alison Firestone’s Major is another International show jumper by Grand Veneur who under Thomas Fuchs finished second in the Aachen Grand Prix.

French Showjumping Stallion

Frou Frou D`anchin brings together two of the best breeding lines in France. As a young stallion Frou Frou competed very successfully in Europe upto grand prix level. In January 2002 Frou Frou D`anchin was purchased by High Offley Stud and unfortunately sustained a competition injury and missed most of the season. He began his long awaited come back at the Royal show where he acredited himself very well with a 2nd place in an 1.30m open competition.Frou Frou has continued his comeback winning and being placed in many open competitions, unfortunatly he suffered a reaccurance of the injury and it was decided to retire Frou Frou D'anchin from show jumping.

Frou Frou D'anchin then went onto compete at affiliated dressage where he consistently won or placed in the competitions he entered, Frou Frou D'anchin is a very hansome 16.3 Bay Stallion with presence and character and has proved to be very popular Stallion with breeders. His first UK progeny are now started to compete in the show jumping ring and many look to be exciting prospects for the future.

French Stallion At Stud

Belcam Agassi

By imported frozen semen from the legendary Hannoverian sire Argentinus, combined with the famous jumping line of Silveneer, Agassi stands at 16.3hh. Agassi was syndicated for the highest sum in this country yet. His second crop of foals are again absolute superior quality, showing size and conformation of the finest degree.

His first progeny offered for sale under saddle, fetched an average of over $16,000 at the 2002 Belcam Auction. They all appear to inherit an amazing talent for jumping, along with excellent type and temperament. Two of these progeny to make it out to the shows for light competition this season were Belcam Armada and Belcam Advisor (now owned by Kristy Bruhn, SA). Both young horses showcased their amazing athletic jumping ability and fantastic attitudes.

Belcam Agassi himself has been competing lightly on the Qld jumping circuit and is now C Grade.

Australia - Ottaba Stud

Ottaba Stud is located in the beautiful Brisbane Valley just over an hour from Brisbane. Our young stock is sold at 4 and 5yo after starting basic training at the Stud.

Ottaba Stud was formed in 1994 and is situated on 165 acres of bushland with foundation Stallion Warrego Juggler. Now in 2009 Ottaba Stud has cross country fences, full dressage sand arena, show jumping facilities, yards, free jumping yard, round yard, stallion paddocks, stables and paddocks with 80% improved pasture with good growth all year round. Ottaba Stud initially started out as a hobby for owners Kris and Terry Tasker who brought their passion for hunting, eventing and show jumping over from New Zealand.

Ottaba Stud first stood foundation Stallion Warrego Juggler and we began our breeding program with him in 1996. Juggler’s bloodlines contained Lander on his dam side and Ludendorf on his sire side.

Temperment
A show jumping stallion must posses a good temperment, when they compete they are surrounded by other horses including other stallions as well as mares, if they haven't got the temperment they will be put of their show jumping and wont be succesfull in the show jumping ring in extreme cases stallions can also be dangerous as they are more agressive when in the vasinity of other stallion.

No scope no hope the saying goes, if the horse does not posses enough scope it has hardly worth keeping them entire, the horse would have a much better life as a gelding. However I do believe that some horses do have increased scope as a stallion but if they are not good enough you should have them cut

Pedigree
With the advent of frozen seman and embryo tranfer there are some horses with some excellent bloodlines to choose from and for your stallion to compete yours must also have fantastic bloodlines, a top show jumping stallion can cover upto 200 mares a year and the leading show jumping stallions get to pick and choose amongst the best mares available

French Show Jumping Stallion - Apache d’Adriers

This stallion has been one of the most successful in France in the past ten years – both as a performer and now as a sire. As a young horse, Apache was sensational – at three years of age, he won the stallion grading in Normandy {and coming from the Vendéen region was the first horse bred outside Normandy to do so!} and then went on to finish 7th in the World Young Jumping Horse Championships in the seven year old class, Ridden by Jacques Bonnett, the stallion won Grand Prix in Madrid, Barcelona and Lisbon, Nations Cup classes in Rome and La Baule and World Cups in Bordeaux and Bercy. He was retired at the age of 14 after being long listed for the French team for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Apache d’Adriers out of the the mare, Joyeuse de Choisy by the Thoroughbred Felix. Felix was by Moutiers who descends from Prince Rose, a regular name on jumping pedigrees (and a descendant of the Bay Ronald on his dam line}. On his dam sire, Moutiers is out of a Nasrullah mare (Phalaris} and on the female side, traces to Ballyferis with Son-In-Law/Dark Ronald on his sire line.

Her dam, Violette O was by Invincible who was by the Thoroughbred, L’Alcazar. Violette O was the dam of a series of well performed jumpers and the stallion, Harris (by Arquebusier}. Her full sister was the legendary Nouba D, who competed in French showjumping competition up until her twentieth year, competing in foal or with a foal at foot.

Joyeuse de Choisy commenced her breeding career at the age of four – and her first foal, the filly, Pivoine de Choisy – by Double Espoir – was a spectacular success, a finalist in the 6 year old championships and a top open competitor. Her second filly, Valkyrie d’Adriers (by Jabad} is now breeding in Belgium where she produced Idole de Rêve (by Quito de Baussy} a finalist in 7 year old class in the 2003 World Young Jumping Horse Championships. French team rider, Jacques Bonnet had been competing on Pivoine de Choisy, and recommended putting the mare back to Double Espoir – the result was Apache d’Adriers. However Apache was not a typical product of Double Espoir – his other sons, like the famed Flipper d’Elle or Fidelio du Thot, tend to be short and compact, where Apache was influenced more by his Thoroughbred grandsire, Felix, who stood for only two seasons.

After he won the three year old championship. Apache d’Adriers was sold to the National Stud where he career as a sire has been hugely successful. According to his breeder Henri Brugier, Apache d’Adriers has a good temperament: "You didn’t have to explain things to him twice, he would always try because he is clever and once he had been explained things he would learn fast. At the earliest age he showed power, and passes it down to his progeny. The best match is with very ‘elegant’ mares that carry blood. He also gives his offspring his very good bascule. His offspring are fit, have muscle tone, and his very good temperament. Three-quarters of his offspring are chestnut like him, but he also breeds bay and sometimes grey foals."

According to Jacques Bonnett: "Apache d’Adriers does not mark his offspring with a specific conformation but he passes down to them his great temperament, winning spirit and great jumping ability. He is a generous horse and a great competitor that gives it all when he is in the ring. His offspring are of good overall and homogenous quality and I have never seen a bad one. His weaker point is maybe a slight lack of engagement which hinders his canter. For me, Apache is among the five best sires in France."

According to Patrick Clerin, Assistant Manager at the National Stud of Bois, where Apache stands, "His best match seems to be with Thoroughbred mares and with mares with a lot of blood in their pedigree, the modern and sports type. His offspring don’t always carry his mark but usually inherit his great show jumping ability."(All these quotes are from Apache d’Adriers: Norman-Vendéen mix by Claire Lavaillez in the December, 2003 edition of Breeding News}

In 2002 Apache d’Adriers attracted 82 mares, making him the 38th most popular sire in France. He ranks 13th on the French Performance Stallion rankings (based on genetic indices in CSO performances} with an ISO of 181. In 2003 Apache d’Adriers had five finalists Fontainebleau with double clear rounds (only Urbain du Monnai was more successful with six}. Four of his oldest daughters: Gapache d’Adriers, Gazelle Sange, Gloria de la Roche and Héritière d’Adriers are very successful national and international competitors as is the stallion, Histrion du Serein.

Corland has proven by his own performance and with that of his progeny to be a treasure for the breeding community.

With a succesfull international show jumping carrear Corland's results including 5th in the Grand Prix in Bordeaux, 6th in the Grand Prix in Helsinki, 5th in the Grand Prix in Maastricht, 4th in the Grand Prix in Den Bosch, 2nd in the Grand Prix in Rotterdam, 2nd in the Sires of the World competition in Lanaken, 7th in the Grand Prix in Zuidlaren, 7th in the Grand Prix in La Baule, Champion of the Benelux in The Hague, 7th in the Grand Prix in Calgary and 7th in the World Cup in Verona

Corland is a fantastic looking grey stallion and his progeny posess his good looks and are proven to be exciting sport horses. His sons, Pacific and Sir Corland, were approved and Champions of their Stallion Tests; his daughter VDL Pendence had the highest ETPM {mare test} of 2001 with 87.5 points; his son Cor de Son won the World Championship in Lanaken for 5 year old jumpers; and his daughter Universe Miss was Dutch Filly Champion.
